What are you passionate about?

The first thing I am passionate about is God and His Holy Word, the Holy Bible. I love to spend time with God in His presence and in His Word. I am in school for a Bachelor’s of Divinity, actually. I am also passionate about family and friends. I love to spend time with both, even when they prove challenging. I am also very passionate about self-improvement. This is manifest in counseling, Biblical study and application, reading self-help books by both churchy people and mental health professionals, and finally meditating on and applying the advice of family and friends. These are just some of the things I am passionate about. God bless and stay tuned!

What’s the one luxury you can’t live without?

So this may sound goofy but a lot of people can’t afford shoes, let alone how many pairs I have. I am extremely thankful for this blessing from God. Crocs, TOMS, Adidas, I got them all. I prefer Adidas and TOMS, though. So comfy. Plus a portion of the proceeds from TOMS goes towards charity. Right now I believe they are going towards grass roots mental health treatment. Helping other people when helping yourself is something I prefer to do. If I can bless others with a blessing from God, I will. God bless and stay tuned!

Who do you spend the most time with?

Unless you count the always present God who is always with me even when I’m not actively pursuing doing things for, with, or whatever, it’s my coworkers. I have a wide variety of coworkers of different ages. Some are on the up and up, some are not on, what a person who grew up in the church would consider, the up and up. That being said, there is a variety of backgrounds and a variety of personalities. I enjoy working with all of them as they all have something to teach me in some way. I also enjoy the personality of most of them as well. God bless and stay tuned!
How do you love those who have done heinous acts?

How do you love the unlovable? How do you show love to murderers, rapists, and pedophiles? I personally wouldn’t want to be around any of them for any extended period of time. But at the same time we are called to love everyone. First of all, proper boundaries are needed. That means you need to know the details of the offense, not just what they tell you. Actual court documents. Also would need a letter from a licensed counselor or psychiatrist saying this person is not a threat. There are facilities that do risk assessments such as SRT as part of Torrance State Hospital where juvenile sex offenders are housed if they have overlapping mental health issues and are court ordered there for rehabilitation. It is a very complex issue. One that if you are ever in the situation of, talking to your pastor or counselor as to how to best handle it is definitely beneficial. Recent documentation is always helpful as well. While older documentation should not be ruled out, it must not be the only documentation used as there are people who have delusions that they have done heinous acts that they never have before. Also, if you ever suspect a crime make certain you report it to your local police department immediately. Do not surround yourself with those who are actively breaking the law. This is simply a question I ask myself occasionally and am seeking an answer for myself

If you had to change your name, what would your new name be?

So, if I had to change my name it would be my favorite character’s name I would choose. That name is Solas. Solas is an ancient elven mage who freed slaves and fought against false gods in the Dragon Age universe. He is super powerful and is driven by his convictions of setting his people free from tyranny. He is also incredibly intelligent and passionate. Stay tuned and God bless!

Describe your dream chocolate bar.

My dream chocolate bar was a chocolate bar that points out the inconsistencies of the transgender movement with a version without nuts and a version with nuts that also tastes really good. Jeremy’s chocolates are those chocolates. I actually will be posting a review of them at some point on my Facebook and Instagram. But for now, I’ll say they are phenomenal chocolate both for their conservative, traditional, values and their taste. Go check them out if you want to support a conservative chocolate brand! That being said, I generally find traditional, conservative, values Biblical when compared to more progressive values. God bless and stay tuned!

What fears have you overcome and how?

So there are a lot of fears I have overcome, such as escalators. The way I’ve overcome them is by facing them and doing or somehow forcing myself to overcome them. Trusting God is in control, I am saved, and will inherit eternal life no matter what because of my faith in Jesus Christ has really helped me face and then overcome my fears aside from going up and down escalators.

Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

This one is pretty simple. I just listen to Chip Ingram and John Piper sermons for joy. There’s something about hearing the Word of God preached that just brings joy to the believer.
Compassion

What quality do you value most in a friend?

My core values I value most in friends. But the one that stands out most is compassion. If you’re not compassionate there’s no way we could sustain a friendship. This doesn’t mean we need to agree on what to be compassionate about every time, but if you’re an abrasive jerk I’m not going to be drawn to you.

What jobs have you had?

So i have a disability. That being said, I have mostly had restaurant jobs in my lifetime. A lot of fast food jobs. Some regular restaurant jobs as well. Working on my Divinity degree so I can get a religious job
